However, most troubling is to learn about how poorly some of the employees are treated at Zane's Cycles. Since voting to improve their working conditions through a union, a number of employees were fired in what appears to be retaliation. This practice seems to continue, recently firing with no cause an employee who had worked there for over 15 years (but had pushed for safer work conditions). Not something I want to actively support!
Their lifetime service deal when you buy your bike there is unmatched anywhere and their staff is top notch. I've never met an employee there who isn't genuinely happy to be there and happy to talk to you about anything related to bikes.
They also just started carrying Rocky Mountain, so that is another plus!
I hope Zane's does what's right and improves in this regard. Until then, I'm happy to support the many bike shops in New Haven, like Devil's Gear, who are better corporate citizens.
Walked in, it was busy, Eric assisted me almost immediately. I needed a part for my Bontrager, charger. Had the part, showed me how to properly use it. Highly recommend this business. Purchased 2 bikes from here, great quality, great staff.
The shop is fine, big place and easy to get lost in.
A huge fan of Zane's. I currently live in Boston but I'm from the shoreline area and will gladly travel back home to get my bike serviced.
Wonderful experience buying my son's bike today. Our salesperson was very nice and knew the products well. He made sure we were comfortable with the bike we chose and understood all the warranty and service information. Large selection of bikes to choose from.
Bike had a few issues at first but Zanes customer service was amazing. Make sure you give them a chance to correct your problem if you happen to have one.
